Physical Education

Waverley Meadows Primary School offers their students an hour P.E session a week with a quality and engaging program. With ample space including a basketball court, netball court, soccer field and AFL field students have the space to develop their skills across all areas of the curriculum.

We offer sequential units from Prep to Grade 6 where students develop, refine and explore their fundamental motor skills through drills and game situations.

We offer whole school sporting events, including House Sports, Cross Country, School Fun Run a Twilight Family Sports to promote a sense of community and connectedness.

The Prep Physical Education Program is delivered through the schools PMP program that helps students develop their gross motor skills.

Our Grade 5 and 6 students participate in both Summer and Winter Interschool Sports covering a variety of sports. Our teams are very successful and compete to their best of their abilities.

Our Prep – Grade 4 students are involved in an intensive swimming program every year.

With the Sporting Schools Government funding our students have the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches from various sports each term.

Music

This year we are really excited to be involved in Wheelers Hill Secondary College's musical - The Wizard of Oz. Thirty of our students from year 3 to 6 will spend term 2 rehearsing their roles as munchkins! This will be a wonderful experience for our students to be involved in a production with older students.  We can't wait to see them perform.

In term 4 we are preparing for our whole school performance of The Billabong Prank on the 14th and 15th of November. The students have been working hard rehearsing to remember their lines and dances to go with the songs. All of the students are very excited to perform for their families.
