At Waverley Meadows Primary School, we teach The Resilience Project to help students build Resilience, Empathy, and Mindfulness. We also teach AUSLAN as our LOTE subject, giving students the opportunity to learn Australian Sign Language and promote inclusivity.
All classes at Waverley Meadows Primary School actively participate in The Resilience Project and AUSLAN weekly.
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program is an innovative and hands-on initiative designed to teach children valuable life skills related to food, cooking, gardening, and nutrition. This program aims to engage students with both the kitchen and the garden, fostering a deeper connection with the food they eat and an understanding of where it comes from.
For the 2025 school year, Grades 3 and 4 will work together, and Grades 5 and 6 will participate as a group. This program involves students in cooking and gardening activities throughout the year, blending learning about food production, preparation, and healthy eating with outdoor garden work.
